Meet the Editors

Physician Editor
Weijen W. Chang, MD, FAAP, SFHM
The physician editor of The Hospitalist is Weijen Chang, a pediatric and adult hospitalist at Baystate Medical Center and Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield, Mass., where he is an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Baystate, chief of pediatric hospital medicine, and vice-chair for clinical affairs at Baystate Children’s Hospital. He has previously served as the pediatric editor for The Hospitalist and on the editorial advisory board. His contributions to SHM include serving as the chair of the Pediatrics SIG, participating in the Med-Peds SIG, and being a frequent faculty/speaker at annual meetings. Dr. Chang earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University, graduated from medical school at New York Medical College, and trained in Med-Peds at Duke University in Durham, NC.


Pediatric Editor
Patricia Tran, MD, MS
Dr. Tran is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Ill., and a pediatric hospitalist at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. She is also a deputy editor of digital media for the Journal of Hospital Medicine. As pediatrics editor, she leads strategy for pediatric hospital medicine-focused content, bringing this expertise to the editorial team and ensuring pediatric hospitalists’ voices are represented.
Editor
Lisa Casinger is a professional editor and writer. She’s spent the last 30 years writing and editing for trade and consumer magazines and various company marketing departments. She joined Wiley in 2021.
